In honor of the 4th of July

I do not post to this blog anymore and, to tell you the truth, I have plans to "put it down" io the near future. But I don't want to do that without a certain amount of pomp and circumstance, and at the moment, I don't have enough time to develop an appropriate farewell to Cuisine Quotidienne, which I imagine will take me several posts. It will have to wait until I get to the USA in four days!

For now, here's a little clin d'oeil to the 4th of July. I happen to quite like hot dogs, and think they're a nice occasional school night meal -- as long as they're served with a salad or two, or some veggies. And pains spéciaux pour hot dogs have finally arrived in my region of France!

I know it's culinarily incorrect, but I was happy to find them at my local EcoMarché...

Love your new picture. I hope to catch up on some blog reading when I get to the USA...I've missed a lot.

I am sorry to hear you are "putting this down" but I guess it's been coming on for a while, now.

My husband bought a packaged hot dog at Fran Prix once and actually enjoyed it!

Mimi, well you as much as anyone know the constraints of food blogging. And the standards are so high! I'm thinking I'll just integrate food posts into FP.

Interestingly, CQ still gets quite a few visits, which is kind of weird.

I'll miss you, but then I'll just have to change over to FP! I have understanding for the stress of having more than one blog going. Foodblogging is especially difficult, since there is nothing really "new"...everything's been done and being done.
Good luck on whatever you choose.

myfrenchkitchen -- Thanks for dropping in. I think I'll be doing a little indexing and/or retrospective posts this summer before the big change. And I'll leave the site for posterity, for sure! I actually get a lot of visits from non-bloggers.

I like hot dogs, too! I regret only eating one on my last trip to the states. Do you know of any good ones available in France?

I use the big, hot-dog sized "Knacki," the ones with the silly fake grill marks on them!
